Learn how to overcome them! Failures in entrepreneurship, obstacles that you do not think you will overcome, goals that you do not achieve… are all part of the entrepreneurial life you have chosen. What matters is how you relate to them and what your attitude is towards them. Do you let the failures defeat you? Can't get over an obstacle? Failure is a part of life, and that includes business failures. To be an entrepreneur means to always find ways to achieve your goals, even if they are not the ones you would usually follow, and more importantly, to have a positive mindset that will lead you to success. If you also encounter failures and obstacles in your business, here are some ways you can get over them: 1. Adopt positive thinking When planning your business, you must have a vision to maintain both when writing your business plan and throughout its development. What results do you want to achieve (don't just think about the financial ones)? Do you want to influence the community you belong to? Do you want to have a positive impact on those around you? Where do you want your business to be in 3, 6, 9, 12 months? Your vision should include: • The answer to the question: "What do I want to achieve with my business?" • What products or services do I offer? • How do I position myself in front of the competition? • How do I delimit the business niche correctly? • What problems can I encounter along the way and how can I solve them? • What marketing strategies are right for my business? This list is not written in stone. Your vision can be as big or small as you want it to be. The important thing is to be viable and achievable. If you have a vision, it will be easier for you to overcome the obstacles that will appear in your way. 2. Constantly analyse your business An analysis of your business, in which to include aspects related to strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats is essential for the prevention, but also for overcoming failures. Think about all the strengths of your business and work continuously to develop them. Weaknesses are those that affect the business. Something is not working properly. In this case, you need to analyse the situation and make immediate changes, work on something new or stop what you are doing. Opportunities come from external factors and represent positive prospects for the future. Value them, don't be afraid to take risks and act to make the most of them. Threats are external factors that can cause potential damage to your business. An obvious example would be competition. Determine which areas of your business are affected by this problem and set achievable goals to minimize damage. 3. Keep customers at the heart of your business It is an excellent way to overcome possible failures in entrepreneurship. Loyal customers are the success stories of your business. They are the ones who always return to the services you offer and recommend them to other. It is not only important to win a customer, but also to retain him/her. Involve their stories and feedback in your business strategy, in planning your marketing campaigns and in developing new products. A good relationship with your customers can be what you need to get over an obstacle. 4. Failures in entrepreneurship? Think of them as short-term delays Many of us start living with the thought that failure is a negative thing. Therefore, when we fail to do what we set out to do, we are tempted to give up at first, without thinking about why we failed and what we can do so as not to repeat the mistake in the future. Especially in entrepreneurship, we have to analyse every situation we face, especially when we talk about failure. Think about what went wrong and find solutions to the problem that caused the failure. As an entrepreneur, you have to learn from your mistakes and do things differently next time. Get inspired by the stories of people who have failed many times, but have finally achieved their dreams. 5. Set goals and develop strategies to achieve them Write down your goals. This will give you clarity and make it easier to reach them. A smart goal must be: • Specific: specify exactly what you want to achieve • Measurable: divides the goal into smaller steps • Achievable: Is your goal realistic? Make sure you have the time and resources to make it a reality. • Relevant: the goal must be in line with the business vision • Punctual: set a deadline and respect it. 6. Accept the challenges and take calculated risks Like our tendency to avoid mistakes, we often avoid challenges because, in our brains, the "challenge" usually leads to failure. However, avoiding the challenge means missing out on opportunities in exchange for short-term safety. Moreover, as an entrepreneur, you have to evolve constantly with the market and the changing needs of your customers. 7. Use the expertise of a mentor or business advisor A business advisor or mentor can be the ideal solution when you go through a failure or obstacle. Listen to their advice, stories and personal experiences - they will definitely help you grow as an entrepreneur, and with your personal development, grow your business. It is difficult to run a business on your own, which is why entrepreneurs need encouragement, guidance and reassurance when they face problems. Mentors and counsellors have also been in your place and know how to help you. So, don't hesitate to ask for their advice! What do you do to overcome obstacles and overcome failure?
