We are used to following new resolutions at the beginning of each year to make our lives better. Someone once said, "People don't plan to fail - they fail to plan." Before planning your goals and plans for the new year, do a thorough evaluation of the year that has just ended. Here are some questions you should ask yourself: • What achievements are you most proud of in the past year? • What was the most important lesson you learned? • How do you turn your mistakes into lessons? • What should you change about your business? • What should you keep the same? • What do you not know yet and would you like to learn more about? Here are 3 main reasons that stand in the way of fulfilling your resolutions: You are in a hurry and don't take things step by step You are not at a marathon of change! The idea is to gradually introduce one healthy thing into your life, until it becomes a habit, not a chore. New Year's resolutions are not specific enough It's useful to have a timeline of your resolution, so think about short, medium and long term milestones that will let you know you're on your way to achieving your goal. "What do I need to do this week, what do I need to do in the next month and what do I hope to achieve in the next few months? You don't believe in yourself and you see resolutions as something negative, difficult to fulfill Doubt is a nagging voice in your head. The only way to overcome doubt is to believe in yourself. Who cares if you failed once or twice? This year, you can try again (but better this time). The change has no fixed date. New Year's resolutions can be adopted at any time. Instead of setting the resolution on January 1st, decide that you will change your habits when you are ready to fully dedicate yourself to the beneficial change. Whether that means waiting a few days or postponing the goal launch for a few months, it's better to delay the goal than abandon it altogether. ADVICE for entrepreneurs! Connect with people as diverse as possible, from different fields You may be familiar with the "echo chamber" effect. If we try to spend more time with people who share our own points of view, we hear our assumptions reinforced, so that prejudices persist. In entrepreneurship, you have to talk to people who may have a different mentality than yours, whose education and business trajectory is different. Entrepreneurs have to take more and more risks and try new things to keep up with the changing market and consumer preferences. A diverse network is essential. If you don't have a big budget for marketing, recruitment or partnerships, relationships with a wide range of people are a huge advantage.
